A very rare spawn in the Desert, the Golden Scorpion is an Elite version of the Scorpion. Shoots a larger amount of green bullets, has more HP and explodes when killed, sending a nasty ring of green projectiles from its dead body.
It attacks by shooting a beam of fast venom projectiles accompanied by a spread of slow-moving projectiles that can very easily kill players stuck in the crossfire.
Its armor plating uniquely creates a metal ping sound when shot.

- In older versions of Nuclear Throne, a glitch caused the Golden Scorpion to spawn inside a regular scorpion, killing it instantly and dropping its rads, almost as if a regular scorpion shedding its skin. The developers decided to keep that glitch for a while before it was eventually removed from the game.
